Hanover Township is proud to be "Stigma-Free."  On November 10, 2016, the township Committee passed a resolution proclaiming Hanover Township to be a stigma-free community, thereby joining numerous other towns and Morris County in this commendable initiative.  Click here for more information.

Jan.6, 2016 until March 10, 2017:  "Get high on fun, not on Drugs!"  Due to overwhelming demand, The Substance Awareness Council brings back ice skating this winter.  Click here for more information.

5/13/16:  The Substance Awareness Council is hosting its 3rd annual Family Picnic/Volleyball Tournament. For more information, click here

JANUARY & FEBRUARY 2016:  The Substance Awareness Council has partnered with Mennen Arena to provide low cost skating to Hanover Township residents.  For more information, click here.

2/22/16 - The Substance Awareness Council will sponsor a speaking engagement from former Boston Celtic basketball player, Mr. Chris Herren, for parents and other concerned community members.  Please click here for additional information.

2/12/16 - The Substance Awareness Council and Sharon's Studio of Dance and Music are thrilled to present the "Greatest Fun Night Ever," on Feb. 12, 2016, for all Middle School Students.  For more information, click here.

1/21/16 - The Substance Awareness Council will sponsor a poetry slam for high school students.  Click here for additional information.

11/6/15 - The Substance Awareness Council will sponsor a roller skating party on November 6, 2015 for middle school students.  Click here for information & flyer.

10/7/15 - The Substance Awareness Council will host a panel discussion on Wednesday evening, October 7, 2015.  Please click here for details.

6/17/15 - The Substance Awareness Council will conduct a panel discussion concerning modern-day perils for teens.  This informative program is a "must" for all parents, grandparents, and friends of teenagers.  Immediately preceding the program, we are proud to host a performance by WPHS dramatic arts students, depicting the pitfalls of using dangerous substances.  Please see attached flyer.


6/2/15 - We are pleased to announce a dramatic presentation, "Instant Impact."  This play is sponsored by the Substance Awareness Council, written and directed by Brittany Goodwin and Kathleen McAuliffe, and performed by Whippany Park HS students.  It demonstrates the dangers of alcohol abuse, and will be performed in the WPHS cafeteria at 7:30 pm on June 2nd.  This amazing performance is free for all residents.  Please see attached flyer.

 

5/9/15 - The Hanover Township Substance Awareness Council and the Hanover Township Recreation Department are sponsoring their 2nd annual Volleyball Tournament / Picnic.  This is a free event for Hanover residents of all ages, focused on K-8 children and their families.  Click here for flyer.

3/17/15 - The Hanover Substance Awareness Council will be holding a Hanover Youth Night on March 20th at the Florham Park Roller Rink.  All Hanover Township 6-8th graders are welcome to skate!  Please register and pay at the Hanover Township Community Center.  More information is posted below on the permission slip that you can download right here.

12/15/14 - The Hanover Substance Awareness Council will be holding a Hanover Youth Night on December 20th at Hanover's own Cheer Pride located at 31 Leslie Court.  The cost of the event is $10 and also includes Pauly G's pizza and a beverage.  All Hanover Township residents in grades 5-8 are welcome to join.  This event is a first come/first serve gathering and is limited to 65 sign-ups.  Download the Permission slip below to attend.

8/17/14 - CANCELLED The Hanover Substance Awareness Council is sponsoring an event called "Volleyball Awareness."  The event will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014 from 8PM-10PM.  You can view more details and download the permission slip below. CANCELLED

3/12/14 - On Friday March 28th and Friday May 2nd the Hanover Substance Awareness Council will sponser a Hanover Youth Night at the Florham Park Roller Rink.  This even is for all 4th and 5th graders in Hanover Township.  The cost of entry and skate rental will cost $7.25.

1/22/14 - The Hanover Substance Awareness Council is sponsoring two skate nights at the Florham Park Roller Rink for 4th and 5th graders.  The first skate night will take place on FRIDAY 3/28/14 FROM 8PM-10PM and the second skate night wil take place on FRIDAY 5/2/14 FROM 8PM-10PM.  The cost per skater is $7.25 and includes free rentals; either skates or in-lines.  All skaters are welcome to bring their own skates or in-lines.  We ask that you try to arrive promptly, thsoe attending the skate night WILL NOT be allowed to enter BEFORE 8PM.

4/1/13 - On Friday May 10, 2013 from 7PM-9PM the Hanover Substance Awareness Council will sponsor a Hanover Youth Night.  It is open to all Hanover Township 3rd-5th graders looking for a night of fun, pizza, dancing, and music!

11/15/12 - On Friday, December 7th, the Hanover Substance Awareness Council and the Hanover Township Recreation Committee will sponser "High Energy Friday."  This will be a fun evening of high energy activities, games, and dancing!  It will take place from 7 PM - 9 PM in the community center.  You can download the permission slip by clicking on the link below!

11/1/12 - On Friday, November 9th, there will be a Hanover Youth Night sponsored by the Hanover Substance Awareness Council.

10/9/12 - The Hanover Substance Awareness Council is proud to announce that "One Day One School" will be taking place this Saturday (10/13/12) at Hanover Park High School.  "One Day One School" asks all volunteers to arrive promptly at 9 AM.

5/9/12 - This Friday (5/11/12) at 6:30 PM in Hanover Community Center there will be a 5th Grade Fun Night!  For $5 the 5th Grade Fun Night will include snacks, drinks, games, and a DJ.  The Fun Night will end at 9:30 PM.  You can download the permission slip by clicking on the link right below!

4/4/2012 - The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day which will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.?  This is a great opportunity for you to dispose of unused and expired prescription pills.  

3/15/2012 - On Friday March 23, 2012 the Hanover Substance Awarenesss Council will sponsor a Youth Fun Night for Grades 3-5 at the Hanover Township Community Center.  There will be wiffle ball, kick ball, basketball, dancing, and pizza!  Admission for the Youth Fun Night is $5 and is payable at the door.  You can download the permission slip below by clicking on the link.
